Which Golf Stance Is For You?
from: Peter MasonGolfing is a fun and challenging game for anyone that decides to participate. Some feel it is a game that is easy to learn, while others say it's a time-consuming challenge to master the game of golf. The one thing they will probably all agree on is that your golf stance can make or break your game. A good golf stance is important for a good golf game.
For many, the perfect golf stance is something that almost comes naturally. Others have to work at it to try to perfect it. One thing you need to realize is that a stance for a man is going to be different from for a woman because the bodies are put together differently. Generally, a woman will need a larger stance than a man due to the different make up of the hips and how they work and turn. A woman's hips tend to move more freely, which often makes swinging come more naturally than a man, whose hips are more stiff and unyielding.
You may find tips on golfing websites, in magazines or from golfing friends. They'll tell you to put your feet so far apart, place your hands a certain way on the clubs, etc. While (http://www.alicante-spain.com/costa_blanca_golf_courses.html) professional golfers will tell you the most important things for a good golf swing are balance and the right stance, you need to determine the stance that works best for you. While I have repeatedly used baseball as my examples with golf, the stance is similar in that each person is different. You will see one batter stand at the plate a certain distance from the plate and holding the bat a certain way. He'll hit a homerun. You'll then see the next batter doing something entirely different and he'll hit a homerun. Which batter was correct in his stance? They probably both were because they used the stance that worked for them based on their skill level and body frame. The very same theories work with golfing.
While a good stance is important to the game, it needs to be a stance that makes you comfortable. If your stance results in sore muscles or joints, you won't get much out of golf regardless of how good your game was. Always, remember to warm up before you begin your game. This can't be stressed enough. Also, don't let your stance take over your entire game. While it is important, your concentration should be more on having fun then on how your feet should or shouldn't be placed. Often, while just relaxing, you will find that the perfect stance for you will just come naturally.
